IT Support Specialist

The Systems Support Specialist will report to the IT Manager and will provide comprehensive technical support for hardware, communications and software in use across the company. This includes maintaining, controlling and operating computer hardware and software, and acting as a technical resource in installation, maintenance, security and upgrade projects while maintaining the Company Values. This role will support the advancement and integration of leading technologies aligned with the company’s strategic goals and objectives.
- Configure, and maintain new and stablished EDI customers on Gentran
- Support IT Manager on Epicor ERP system (including implementation of new modules and upgrades) and provide solutions which optimize business processes.
- Configure, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain network hardware to ensure system reliability and up-time.
- Implement recovery procedures in the event of failures;
- Configure, administer, maintain and troubleshoot company phone system and cell phones, and other technology devices and systems
- Investigate and resolve server hardware and software issues.
- Install and maintain software and assist users when required
- Coordinate, implement and act as a resource on projects as assigned by IT Manager
- Test and provide technical feedback on system enhancement
- Work with third party suppliers or consultants to coordinate diagnosis of faults, installations, repairs and testing
- Prepare technical specifications and obtain quotes from vendors for hardware, software, or services
- Install, configure, troubleshoot and provide assistance to users for PCs, laptops, printers, wireless devices
- Other duties as assigned.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science or related field
- Knowledge and understanding of system requirements from specification, architecture, installation, configuration, and documentation of operating systems
- Previous experience Working with Gentran EDI (IBM sterling)
- Previous working Experience with Epicor ERP system
- Previous experience with Microsoft server platforms, Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange
- Previous experience working with the specifications, configuration and troubleshooting of hardware, Storage Systems, Security and Cisco networking infrastructure
- Strong MS Office Skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
- Excellent problem solving skills to identify key elements in complex computer issues, recommend possible solutions by taking into consideration the technical and business implications, not readily obvious to others
- Superior organization and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects to ensure the commitments are met
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Able to build and maintain effective relationships with external vendors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors and the ability to produce high quality reports
- Flexible and willing with a “can do” attitude
- Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as in a team environment
- Ability to exercise tact, judgement and discretion

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
