**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Vice President of Marketing, Communications and Bayview Impact will play a pivotal role in shaping Invest Ottawa’s role, performance and impact as a national and global leader in economic development, innovation, and entrepreneurship. This senior leadership role combines strategic vision, operational expertise, and relationship-building to drive transformative outcomes. In this role, you will:

- Lead high-impact marketing and communications strategies that support entrepreneurs, companies, and Ottawa’s economic ecosystem.
- Elevate Invest Ottawa’s brand, reputation, and impact locally, nationally, and globally.
- Build and manage strategic relationships partnerships across government, academia, industry, and the community to advance Invest Ottawa’s mission.
- Guide the Bayview Yards stakeholder experience and impact.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of marketing, communications, and Bayview Yards professionals driving economic and community impact.

**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**:
**Strategic Leadership**
- Oversee and guide marketing and communications strategies that align with Invest Ottawa’s vision and strategic plan, ensuring measurable impact and brand alignment.
- Collaborate with the CEO on public and private investment pursuits, including leadership on proposal development, sponsorships, and mission-aligned revenue for Bayview Yards and Area X.O (innovation facilities operated by Invest Ottawa).
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior leadership team, providing counsel on public affairs, strategic communications, and risk management.
- Guide the stakeholder experience and impact of Bayview Yards as an innovation hub.
- Drive initiatives that increase visibility, stakeholder experience, and long-term sustainability and impact as a catalyst for economic growth and innovation in our region.

**Team Leadership and Development**
- Inspire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of marketing, communications, and Bayview Yards professionals.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and inclusion aligned with our values
- Manage the topline department budget for Marketing and Communications and Bayview Yards to achieve strategic priorities, and maximize resources, productivity and impact.

**Marketing and Brand Management**
- Oversee the development and execution of data-driven marketing strategies to drive the right client pipeline for Invest Ottawa programs and services and create new opportunities and impact for founders and companies. This includes comprehensive content strategies that achieve marketing goals across diverse platforms and audiences.
- Continually strengthen Invest Ottawa’s brand visibility across local, national, and global audiences, driving client impact, stakeholder engagement, opportunity and investment.
- Ensure a consistent and compelling brand experience for all stakeholders.

**Corporate Communications and External Relations**
- Build, execute and guide stakeholder engagement strategies with leaders, decision-makers and influencers in government, investors, and stakeholders to strengthen Invest Ottawa’s reputation and relationships.
- Represent Invest Ottawa at high-profile events, conferences, and public forums to strengthen our reputation as a leader in innovation and economic development.
- Oversee corporate communications strategy, public positioning, and risk management.
- Serve as one of the official spokespeople for Invest Ottawa.
- Lead the creation of thought leadership content to position Invest Ottawa as a leading, trusted voice and thought leader in economic development and innovation.

**WHAT YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED/GAINED THROUGHOUT YOUR CAREER**:

- A minimum of 10+ years of executive leadership experience in marketing, communications and/or external relations, preferably within economic development, technology, entrepreneurship or innovation sectors.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience building and managing trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders, including leaders, decision-makers and influencers in government, academia, and industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA considered an asset).
- Track record in attracting securing and scaling public and/or private funding successfully, expertise in budget management and oversigh
