**About Our Client**:
Our client is a prominent player in the construction industry. With a strong presence in the Ottawa area they are currently looking for a Vice President of Construction. The Vice President of Construction, who reports to the President and CEO, is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the construction process to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. The Vice President of Construction is responsible for all sites, direct reports and site staff team, health and safety, and all site and safety equipment.

**Role & Responsibilities:
- Consult on all matters regarding general superintendents, site superintendents, and safety department.
- Accountable for all site and office safety.
- Review all final billing, and schedules regarding maintaining and development (pre-construction).
- Oversee the hiring, assignment, and development of staff to create a high performing team.
- Review all daily site reports, MOL reports, and incident and near miss reports.
- Conduct annual review of Safety Policy and annual COR Audits.
- Attend Safety Conferences and Town Hall Meetings and identify new market innovations and products.
- CADD 7 update and rebate assignment.
- Conduct site reviews, and site meetings with trades and owners as required or requested.
- Provide notice to trade partners and suppliers when there are delays, trade issues, or site issues.
- Make monetary decisions when General Superintendents or Project Managers require assistance.
- Oversee all company rental fleet, and negotiate terms and discounts, as needed.
- Assist Project Managers on tension with trade or issues on site, when assistance is required.
- Attend Management and Director Meetings as required, prepare for each meeting with reports and safety updates.
- Collaborate and meet with Vice President of Operations on a regular basis to review issues, staffing, and legal matters, as required.
- Meet with General Superintendents and Safety Manager weekly to review sites, staff, and updates on any issues.
- Other ad-hoc tasks as required.

**Qualifications**:

- University degree in Engineering (Civil/Construction/Architectural), Business Administration, Commerce, or technical college diploma in Construction Management or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a VP in construction/engineering or related fields.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the ICI construction industry.
- Experience with prefabrication, modular, net zero, or green construction is an asset.
- Knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), industry practices, estimating/budgeting and scheduling.
- Strong understanding and adherence to safety standards
- Gold Seal Certified an asset
- LEED Accredited an asset
- Well Accredited is an asset
- Computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project.
- Knowledge of Suretrak, Primavera P3 or P6, E-Builder Project Management Software, Procore, or BIM software knowledge is an asset.
