George Brown College School of Computer Technology is seeking outstanding individuals to join our faculty team.

As a part-time professor, you will ensure curriculum content is delivered to our high standard, that students are supported throughout their learning journey, and set up for success.

- **Expertise in Bash Programming**:The instructor must have a deep understanding of Bash programming, including variables, data types, input/output operations, conditional statements, loops, functions, arrays, and strings.
- **Problem-Solving Skills**: The instructor should be adept at using problem-solving techniques in the context of computer programming. This includes knowledge of flowcharts, pseudocode, and algorithm design.
- **Teaching and Mentoring Skills**:The instructor must be able to effectively communicate complex technical concepts in a manner that students can understand and apply. They should also be able to provide one-on-one support to students, helping them through code debugging and technical problem-solving.
- **Curriculum Development**:The instructor should have experience or skills in maintaining and improving course curricula. This includes the ability to update course content based on industry trends, student feedback, and pedagogical best practices.
- **Collaboration**: The instructor should have skills in collaborating with other instructors and staff to improve the student experience and lesson delivery.
- **Debugging and Testing Skills**:The instructor must be able to identify and resolve common errors and issues in bash, as well as verify the accuracy and efficiency of code.
- **Patience and Empathy**:The instructor should have the ability to work with students of varying skill levels and learning paces, showing patience and empathy as students grapple with new concepts and skills.
- **Technical Writing**:The instructor should be able to clearly document code and write clear, understandable pseudocode.
- **Understanding of Web Development Best Practices**:While the course focuses on bash and computing logic, a broader understanding of web development best practices would be beneficial for providing context and real-world examples.

As a profess you will be responsible for:

- Teach a variety of topics related to computing logic, including problem-solving, flowcharts, pseudocode, algorithm design, pattern recognition, bash programming language, variables and data types in bash, input/output operations, conditional statements, loops, functions, arrays, strings, and debugging and testing in bash.
- Provide 1-on-1 in-class and project support for students.
- Coach students through code debugging and technical problem-solving.
- Collaborate with other instructors to solve student experience and lesson delivery issues.
- Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of our course curriculum.

**Qualifications**:

- Hold a degree, diploma, or certificate from an Ontario college, university, private career college, or equivalent AND
- have at least 24 months occupational web development experience, or
- Have at least 36 months of teaching experience, and 24 months of occupational web development experience, or
- Have at least 48 months of occupational teaching or relevant experience
