**Position Description**:
The **Professor - School of Architectural Studies** is responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective, learning-centered environment for students through the design and delivery of curriculum within the school at George Brown. The professor will teach courses to students in all years at the diploma/degree/ level in addition to other degrees, diplomas and certificate level courses when required.

**Education / Certification / Designation**:

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design (or equivalent) is required. A Master’s Degree in Interior Design (or equivalent) is preferred.
- Member in good standing with the professional regulatory body. Current registration with the Association of Registered Interior Designs of Ontario (ARIDO).

**Experience**:

- Five (5) full-time years of relevant industry experience in Interior Design practices.
- Prior post-secondary teaching training and experience in adult instructions techniques, and curriculum design experience will be preferred and will be applied in a variety of teaching and learning settings.

**Knowledge / Skills Set**:
A thorough knowledge of current trends in Industrial Design practices, with proven ability to teach the entry-level practitioner in the classroom and lab setting will be required. Academic leadership experience in a post-secondary program is an asset.- Working knowledge of other digital technologies such as Rhino, 3Ds MAX, Navisworks, Dynamo, Bluebeam, Lumion and Enscape, V-Ray, Solibri, Codebook, Clarity, etc. is preferred.
- Must have experience with advanced learning technologies, including online delivery.
- Involvement in innovation and professional development related to teaching, use of technology, and student success.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and life-long learning.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to uphold the College’s priorities on diversity and equity.

**Interview process will consist of a mock teaching experience and, in some cases, a practical skills component.**
