**Position Overview**

The Research and Community Engagement Coordinator will oversee the development of evidence-based research conducted by the Black Community Resource Centre (BCRC) to highlight Quebec's English-speaking Black community's status, needs, and priorities. This role is vital in ensuring that BCRC’s research initiatives reflect community concerns and influence meaningful change.

The Coordinator will work closely with the research team to design and implement BCRC’s research projects, including collaborative research with partner organizations and institutions. This includes managing all phases of research, from project planning to data collection and analysis, and ensuring that research aligns with the community's needs.

Additionally, the Coordinator will be responsible for collecting, archiving, and managing research materials and data pertaining to the English-speaking Black community under a joint archiving agreement with the Black Studies Center. They will compile databases, use statistical software to analyze data and develop accessible research outputs.

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful research and advocacy for the English-speaking Black community in Quebec, driving social change through data-driven insights and community engagement.

**This is a hybrid position, with 3 days at home and 2 days in the office.**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Oversee the design and execution of evidence-based research projects on Quebec’s English-speaking Black community.
- Collaborate with partner organizations and institutions on joint research initiatives.
- Collect, organize, and archive research materials and information in partnership with the Black Studies Center.
- Analyze data using statistical software and compile findings into comprehensive databases.
- Develop and disseminate research findings through various media, including infographics, research reports, internal reports, policy recommendations, and presentations.
- Organize community events, such as workshops, research presentations, and outreach initiatives, to engage the community with BCRC’s research.
- Create strategic communication plans to share research findings with key stakeholders, policymakers, and the general public.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Research Methodology, or a related field.
- Strong experience in community-based research, data analysis, and project management.
- Proficiency in using statistical software for data analysis (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R).
- Experience working with marginalized or underrepresented communities, particularly in a research context.
- Strong communication skills, including writing research reports, policy briefs, and developing visual content like infographics.
- Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, academic institutions, and other stakeholders.
