**Tire Discounter Group (TDG)** is a leading Canadian distributor of branded tires. TDG was founded in 1966, and since 1990 has expanded to distribution centers in Barrie, Ottawa, London, Richmond Hill, Oakville and our 150,000 square foot, state of the art Headquarters in East Garafraxa, just outside Orangeville, ON. We also currently have 72 Independent retail stores under the TDG banner known as our Dealer Network, throughout Ontario. TDG is currently seeking a **Corporate Controller **for our Headquarters in East Garafraxa. If you are looking for an exciting and rewarding opportunity with an established growing Canadian company, we want to hear from you.

**Requirements**:
- University degree in Business/Accounting, including professional CPA accounting designation.
- 5 to 10 years of corporate management business experience, including at least 5 years supervising finance staff
- Experience and knowledge of all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management.
- Knowledge of budget preparation and analysis techniques
- Knowledge of ERP Systems
**Responsibilities**:
- Manage the accounting operations for TDG, including general ledger, journal entries, payroll, and statutory reporting.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
- Prepare, analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual operating results, including actual vs budget analysis for each branch.
- Responsible for the accuracy and timelines of financial information including month end schedule
- Manage ongoing cash requirements ensuring sufficient cash resources to meet obligations
- Provide leadership and guidance to our corporate finance and accounting team; measure the team’s effectiveness, find efficiencies. Build positive moral and respect amongst the team.
- Coordinating the year-end audit and preparation of audited financial statements
- Coordinates all other customer and government audits
- Responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements and external reporting to financial institutions, ensuring that all reporting requirements are met
- Prepare and remit monthly/quarterly HST returns
- Assigns and authorizes cheques, and invoices
- Work with RPRA and liaison with recycling PRO
- Promotes and maintains positive corporate relations
- Work with operations to define, measure, analyze, improve and control current processes which impact customer quality and influence internal operating efficiency.
- With input from the VP Finance, responsible for the formulation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory and company policies and procedures.
- Supporting new systems or project selections and implementation from a strategic finance and internal control perspective
- Assists in problem solving/trouble shooting of accounting issues with employees and customers
- Build productive working relationships with stakeholders in order to understand their business operations and the financial information needs of end users.
- Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its customers.
- Promotes and maintains positive corporate relations
- Assist the VP Finance as required
- Support other finance personnel during peak periods and absences
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
