**Basic Knowledge about our requirements for a Financial Controller**
The position of the financial controller consists of directing financial activities such as planning, procurement, and investments for our organization. Performs accounting functions daily and oversees daily operations to ensure efficient completion.
**Job Duties**
- Conduct or coordinate the audits of company accounts and financial transactions to ensure compliance with federal requirements.
- Develop and maintain relations with banking and insurance.
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including full-cycle accounting, account reconciliations, AP, Payroll, and financial statement preparation.
- Compile all required information for tax return preparation and ensure compliance with all applicable tax authorities for year end filings. Ensure compliance with all government programs (HST, WSIB, Payroll, Corporation taxes etc.)
- Prepare management reports and analyses to assist in efficient company operations.
- Prepare financial reports:
- job costing and job profitability reports with shared feedback to team members.
- Budgets and key performance indicators
- Monthly financial reports including cash flow projections
- Managing and overseeing the operations of our accounting software
**Skills & Qualifications**
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent CGA designation
- 4-5 years of prior working experience in accounting
- Solid understanding of Accounting Principles/GAAP
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and financial modeling
- Strong Microsoft 365 Excel experience along with working knowledge of Quickbooks
- Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with all team members
**Compensation**
