IT Help Desk/ System Administrator

The Systems Administrator (SA) will assist in the support, maintenance and monitoring of servers and network infrastructure taking a proactive approach to resolve and identify network performance issues using industry monitoring tools.
**Responsibilities**:
- Supports networking plant equipment, network infrastructure, servers, and hardware.
- Analysis system hardware and software and develops proactive technical solutions,
- identify, resolve, and track technical problems with a sense of urgency and ownership, and,
- install system software, patches and upgrades as required on servers, switches, firewalls.
- Troubleshoots and repairs network connectivity issues,
- perform system backups and recovery.
- Assists and maintains servers and network infrastructure to consistently reduce down time,
- monitors network devices and servers’ health using industry tools.
- Deploys new server, hardware, and software as needed,
- Provides day to day technical support and guidance to non-technical users both in house and remotely.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Customer Service**:
- Provide superior day to day customer service and guidance to nontechnical users on site and remotely via phone and help desk system.
- Provide technical support and training to users as needed in software and in-house systems.
- Create user accounts and manage access levels based on Company policies.
- Partner with Human Resources on the set up and IT On Boarding of new employees.
**Administration**:
- Create tracking system and maintain documentation for operations, resolutions, users and software.
- Maintain inventory of Software Licensing.
- Provide reporting to IT Manager on performance trend issues.
**Requirements**:
- University/College degree/diploma or equivalent in the fields of IT, computer science, networking, or software development.
- 2-4 years’ experience in a System Admin role preferably in a multi-branch environment.
- Must be fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Superior customer service skills.
- Ability to juggle projects while committed to hands on approach with non-technical users.
- Excellent organization skills, attention to detail and committed to deadlines.
- Lead by example, adhering and promoting Company procedures and policies.
**Experience**:
- Strong Microsoft Window Servers (2012,2016) and Desktop OS skills.
- Solid understanding of Active Directory / GPO / DNS / replication.
- Experience with virtualization technology particularly with VMware, VSphere, backup solutions.
- Solid understanding of networking and firewalls, Multi-site VPN.
- Microsoft Exchange Server.
- DFS and File Replication functions.
- VOIP systems.
- Must be willing to work outside regular office hours including weekends as required.
- Travel will be required to three locations including quarterly visits to Saskatchewan plant or as needed on an ad hoc basis as required.
