The Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA), under the authority of the Emergency Management Act, leads the coordination and co-operation of all organizations involved in emergencies and disasters. This includes emergency and disaster prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery.

The Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) is accountable and responsible to the GoA, to Albertans, to their communities, and to industry for the protection of people, their property, and the environment from the effects of emergency events. Alberta relies on a decentralized “system” for managing the various types of emergency events that occur every year. The AEMA accomplishes its objectives by leading the co-ordination, collaboration and co-operation between all entities involved in prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery activities within this diverse system.

**Role Responsibilities**:
The Critical Infrastructure Analyst is the primary interface between the Critical Infrastructure Program administered by AEMA and AEMA's stakeholders; including, but not limited to, municipalities, First Nation communities, mutual aid groups, and not for profit groups. The Critical Infrastructure Analysts provides the critical link to support incident-related critical Infrastructure (CI) needs to stakeholders responsible for direct management of emergency incidents (local authorities) and AEMA. In addition, this position is responsible for coordinating provincial level support to those local/regional stakeholders.

While the Critical Infrastructure Analysts position demands a degree of specialization in the field of CI development and delivery, the position can also be positioned into the Provincial Emergency Coordination Center (PECC), under the Plans Section to provide direct emergency management coordination and advice about CI to Alberta municipalities, First Nations and Métis Settlements, and the GoA, across all four pillars of emergency management. This includes assisting the PECC Planning Section to prepare, implement, and maintains coordination with CI owners and operators during provincial emergencies, identifying impacts and potential threats, to provide situational awareness. The Critical Infrastructure Analysts will monitor, analyze, and disseminate CI information across the province with short response timelines, collaborating with other PECC sections to address CI sector information needs.

The Critical Infrastructure Analysts supports the delivery of the Critical Infrastructure Program through effective planning, implementation and management of resources, public-private partnerships (P3s) and initiatives aimed at enhancing the coordination and resilience of critical infrastructure needs in Alberta.

As a Critical Infrastructure Analyst, you'll tackle a diverse array of multifaceted tasks spanning strategic business planning, complex longer term research, collaborating with multiple stakeholders, and creatively solving problems with mínimal supervision. This supports the Government of Alberta's efforts to increase access to critical emergency management supports, as outlined in the 2023-2026 Fiscal Plan

- Formalizing the development of GoA CI Strategy to lead a network-based approach to CI determination, evaluation and prioritization from an all hazards lens.
- Identify program directions and provide recommendations to senior leaders in alignment with Ministry strategic objectives.
- Support development of government plans with CI components (i.e., water disruption framework)
- Assist in establishing cross-government CI readiness for coordinated responses to emergencies and disasters affecting Albertans through the CI Program. Ensuring the program follows sound stakeholder engagement practices, including establishment of objectives, stakeholder mapping, identifying appropriate tools and techniques and evaluating the effectiveness of the engagement to inform future work.**Stakeholder Engagement** - The position encompasses facilitating a CI Stakeholder Network by building strategic partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders. The Critical Infrastructure Analyst will conducted in-depth, long-term business solution projects often involving a diverse stakeholder group. The position entails taking on the responsibility of serving as the agency's representative in significant cross-sector network engagements and projects involving comprehensive multi stakeholder collaboration.
