If so, you may be interested in joining our dynamic team and playing a crucial role in the software engineering, development and support of our mission-critical Taxation, Assessment & Collections System (TACS) and its enterprise environment.

As a TACS Application & Infrastructure Analyst II, you will report to the Team Lead and provide exceptional technical leadership, guidance and execution in areas such as Oracle code development (Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, ORDS, and PL/SQL and other technologies), enterprise architecture design, interface and integration solution design, systems maintenance and support, database analysis and design, data warehousing, development best practices, and quality systems documentation. You will collaborate closely with business partners and utilize excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization and ensure the successful delivery of critical business software solutions.

**Duties include**:

- Annual Schedule Activities - Lead role in coordinating system and data activities to support year-round mission critical Assessment & Taxation business processes under legislated timelines
- Business Consultation - Technical consultation, identifying business requirements, translating business requirements to technical requirements, negotiating solution delivery deadlines, managing resolution expectations, and providing timely updates to end users at all levels of the organization
- Production Migration - Manage development code migration changes and implement database changes, configurations and optimizations to the TACS production environment
- Problem Management - Identify and lead efforts to the resolution of business and technical operational problems, ensuring that they are managed in accordance with agreed standards and procedures
- Application and Database Performance Tuning - Proactive analysis, trending, monitoring and detection of system performance deficiencies in order to remedy and/or implement preventative measures
- Systems Testing - Plan, coordinate and execute system / detailed end user testing and approval of technical solution implementations
- Systems Documentation - Define and extend the TACS support library documentation of system architectural designs, definitions, guidelines, best practices, disaster recovery and operational support procedures
- Mentoring - Technical and business experience guidance and knowledge transfer to other members of the team and/or other supporting staff

**Qualifications**:

- Degree in a Computer Science from C.I.P.S accredited institution and four (4) years relevant experience; OR Post-secondary Diploma in Software Development related fields and five (5) years of relevant experience
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, combined with a strong aptitude for assessing complex business processes and converting them into a comprehensive system design while considering development and maintenance costs involved
- Excellent time management, involving the coordination, planning, and monitoring of tasks of others to achieve large initiative goals
- Demonstrated ability to execute intricate end-to-end system integrations, deliver solutions, and maintain them effectively
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication (both verbal and written) skills, with a strong dedication to great customer service
- Municipal assessment and taxation business operational process knowledge is an asset.
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or other Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) certification is an asset
- Ability to participate in 24/7 on-call technical support

**Hours of Work**: 33.75 hours per week, Monday - Friday

The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.
