**Job Title**: Head Chef - Indian Cuisine

**Location**: Bollywood Bar & Lounge
**Reports To**: Restaurant Manager/Owner
**Employment Type**: Full-Time

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Menu Development**:

- Design, plan, and update menus featuring authentic Indian dishes.
- Create innovative specials while maintaining the essence of Indian flavors.
- Ensure seasonal availability and cost-effectiveness of menu items.

**2. Food Preparation and Cooking**:

- Prepare and cook Indian dishes to the highest standards, including curries, tandoori items, biryanis, breads, and desserts.
- Oversee the preparation of high-quality meals consistently.

**3. Team Management**:

- Lead and train kitchen staff in Indian cooking techniques and recipes.
- Schedule and supervise kitchen operations, ensuring productivity and teamwork.
- Monitor staff performance and provide feedback for improvement.

**4. Kitchen Operations**:

- Maintain high levels of cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies.
- Monitor food costs and wastage, ensuring budget compliance.

**5. Quality Assurance**:

- Ensure every dish meets the restaurant’s quality standards.
- Monitor customer feedback and address any concerns promptly.

**6. Health and Safety Compliance**:

- Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and staff training on kitchen safety.

**Qualifications and Skills**:
**1. Experience**: Minimum of 10 years as a chef specializing in Indian cuisine, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

**2. Education**: Culinary degree/diploma preferred, though extensive experience can substitute.

**3. Skills**:

- Deep knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative flair for developing new dishes and improving existing ones.

**Work Environment**:

- Fast-paced, dynamic kitchen environment.
- Extended periods of standing and working near hot equipment.
- Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required.

**Salary and Benefits**:

- Competitive salary $60,000 to $72,000
- Performance-based bonuses
