Position Title: Tandoori Line Cook
Location: Bollywood Bar & Lounge
Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Tandoori dishes according to recipes and standards set by the restaurant.
- Marinate meats and seafood for Tandoori cooking, ensuring proper seasoning and flavor infusion.
- Operate and maintain Tandoori oven equipment, ensuring optimal temperature and cleanliness.
- Monitor food temperatures during cooking to ensure food safety and quality.
- Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of Tandoori dishes.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of Tandoori ingredients and notifying management when supplies need to be replenished.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following sanitation and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chefs to develop new Tandoori recipes and menu items.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in Tandoori cooking techniques and procedures.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations, including HACCP guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Tandoori Cook or similar role in a high-volume restaurant.
- In-depth knowledge of Indian cuisine, particularly Tandoori cooking techniques and spices.
- Ability to operate Tandoori oven equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Certification in food handling and sanitation (preferred).
**Education**:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Culinary school diploma or certificate (preferred).
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $15.20 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
