RIMOWA has a unique opportunity for a **Purchaser **to join the CREW at our Cambridge facility.

We are searching for a self-motivated, friendly, and persuasive purchaser with a keen eye for detail to buy various goods for RIMOWA. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting market research, building a network of reliable vendors and service providers, negotiating the best contracts, inspecting deliveries, and travelling to secure deals and meet with potential vendors. You will need to have outstanding communication skills and display a high degree of cultural sensitivity to fill this role.

To be successful as a purchaser, you should be able to identify emerging consumer trends and have a good ability to read people. Outstanding purchasers can juggle multiple responsibilities at once and make important decisions in fast-paced environments.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Optimize raw material stock to help minimize risk of supply disruption and investment in inventory
- Research potential products, vendors, and services, comparing price and quality to ensure the best deal
- Drive cost saving initiatives through alternative vendor sourcing
- Develop purchasing strategies and identify buying trends with a focus on lowered transactional cost
- Conduct research to become familiar with what products are available as well as their costs and benefits
- Develop and implement strategies to localize vendors to reduce lead-time and cost
- Search available products to find the best combination of quality, price, and delivery
- Negotiate policies and contracts with various suppliers
- Manage deliveries to confirm compliance with contracts while monitoring stock levels and verify purchase requisitions
- Communicate damaged or defective goods and work out an alternative solution with the supplier
- Work with Quality Assurance team to address defects and solution management
- Keep detailed records and prepare and submit necessary reports
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with all key suppliers
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and ensure continuous reduction of costs and improvement on product/service against agreed upon Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)

**Requirements**:

- Degree or diploma in business, logistics, accounting, supply chain management preferred
- Certification in APICS, CIPP or CPSM preferred
- Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating, and liaising with vendors)
- Practical experience with purchasing & ERP software
- Familiarity with DDMRP preferred
- Proven work experience as a Purchaser or Buyer
- Effective relationship-building skills
- Strong communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills
- Willingness to make quick and thoughtful decisions on behalf of the business
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analysis
