We are seeking a Maintenance Scheduler to join our Maintenance, Construction and Turnaround Services Team located at our Joffre Site in Central Alberta, near Red Deer. In this role you will be responsible for scheduling maintenance activities to drive productivity based on priority, resources and asset availability.

**You Will Use Your Expertise To**:
Collaborate with integrated support groups of production, maintenance, capital, turnaround, engineering, and projects to develop and communicate execution schedules aligned to asset availability and track progress against completion dates
Utilize SAP capacity planning to schedule work to be executed based on site priorities and asset, resource and materials availability
Manage planned backlogs in alignment with Maintenance Work Management (MWM) Standards and position planned and ready to execute backlog work in future weeks, maintaining a scheduling forecast for the subsequent weeks
Coordinate with functional groups in schedule development to maximize utilization of resources, facilitate effective schedule loading and schedule to 100% of available resource capacity
Lead and facilitate schedule development and commitment meetings
Support data analysis of key performance metrics for leadership and support groups related to scheduling
Understand and adhere to scheduling principles, Maintenance Work Management (MWM) standards, business processes, flows, procedures, and standard practices
Schedule maintenance work as required for specific integrated or emergent outage events
Identify variances to targets and lead problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives
Schedule preventative maintenance (PM) orders in alignment with maintenance philosophy/asset care strategy and regulatory compliance
Contribute to a work environment that supports a motivated, productive team
Escalate issues that require leadership support
Coordinate and collaborate in the development of maintenance standardization, procedures and best practices
Execute work and demonstrate behaviors that reflect NOVA Chemicals’ values
Support budgeting process and drive cost ownership culture
Take an active role in personal performance management and personal development
Organize coverage for vacation and training.
Coordinate with Purchasing on material / Purchase Order (PO) dates
Support planners in communicating with Operations Maintenance Coordinators if projected dates cannot be met

**What We Are Looking For**:
Strong commitment to Responsible Care Principles through demonstrated excellence in occupational safety, process safety and environmental stewardship
A minimum 2-year technical school diploma with 10+ years of related experience or 12+ years combination of post-secondary technical education and related experience
10 years scheduling experience in a petrochemical, gas or industrial processing plant with extensive experience in scheduling the PM, Pdm is considered a key attribute
CMRP and MMP certifications are considered an asset
Ability to coach and mentor developing team members
Expert level working knowledge and working capability of SAP capacity planning and typical industry standards scheduling software (Ex. SAP 1909, P6, Oracle, MRS, Prometheus) and related tools.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
Communication, interpersonal and effective facilitation skills
Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
Continuous Improvement mindset focused on execution productivity
Strong analytical skills to disseminate and effectively present data
