**You as a Payroll Team Lead** **will**:

- Assist with all day-to-day aspects of the Payroll Department.
- Assist with running and overseeing time tracking, payroll, and benefits for 5,000+ salaried and hourly employees, including significant unionized populations in construction and healthcare.
- Manage complex payroll for diverse populations, with multiple systems and pay cycles / schedules, and in most Canadian provinces (including Quebec).
- Oversee payroll and benefits department staff members.
- Prepare statutory reporting and remittances.
- Complete periodic and year-end income tax reporting processes and remittances.
- Review monthly union reporting and related payments.
- Perform payroll accounting functions, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Respond to inquiries from employees and other stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
- Work in a hands-on role, with significant individual preparation as well as review and oversight over the work of others.

**Is this the right role for you?**
- You have 5+ years of progressive payroll experience in a unionized environment.
- You have experience in a similar role.
- You are able to read and interpret collective bargaining agreements and determine related payroll requirements.
- You are familiar with payroll legislative requirements in all or most Canadian provinces, including Quebec.
- You are able to learn and adapt quickly in an unfamiliar environment and are able to work with mínimal supervision.
- You are detail oriented and eager to work in a fast-paced environment.
