In alignment and working directly with the executive team and senior leadership, the Head of Communications & Stakeholder Relations is responsible for developing and delivering brand, communication, and marketing strategies in support of strong external and internal stakeholder relations, positive corporate image, profitability and revenue growth

Reporting to: President & CEO
- Non-Bargaining

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Must be able to perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:_
- As a member of the Senior Management team, working directly with the President & CEO, and the Executive Team, lead the development and execution of overall corporate external and internal communications strategy that aligns with business priorities;
- Build and maintain key stakeholder and media relationships to fulfill the responsibility for external corporate communications including media, key stakeholder communications, social media, and website;
- To initiate & prepare internal & external information including, but not limited to: communications; briefings; press releases; speeches; executive presentations; media materials; corporate spokesperson, etc.;
- Manage strong presence, engagement, and brand strategy across all media platforms;
- Support and oversee the internal corporate communications including the internal website and support of internal clients for sharing of information to all employees;
- Manage the production of marketing assets, including web copy, internal and external, print & electronic materials (e.g. letterhead, brochures, use of logo, etc.) ensuring consistent branding across all communications platforms;
- Lead the development and implementation of Canadian North's Marketing Strategy, ensuring that it reflects the unique identity of ownership and customer base;
- Responsible for oversight of Marketing operations including branding, advertising, corporate collateral, and loyalty programs;
- Provides market data, reporting, and relevant research for strategic corporate decision-making;
- Provides leadership, mentorship, and development of direct and indirect report including goal setting and performance management;
- Prepares and manages departmental operating budgets for their department;
- Fulfill an active role in emergency response preparedness & crisis response;
- Travel & other duties as may be required; and
- Other duties as assigned.

**_SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:_**:

- Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:_
- Minimum of 8 years in strategic communications, stakeholder relations with prior marketing experience;
- Demonstrated exceptional writing skills, journalistic background a strong asset;
- Understanding of issues facing Northern communities and Inuit with ability to analyze and interpret these issues in the context of the Company's goals and objectives;
- Network of positive relations with key Northern and Inuit business, community and government representatives an asset;
- Experience with brand loyalty strategies and customer service experience design initiatives;
- Strong organization and management skills, including the ability to lead and develop a team;
- Demonstrated communication skills with experience speaking in public;
- Ability to keep the business focused on priorities and differentiate strategic importance;
- Ability to pivot on short notice to meet changing needs and to work under pressure often with tight deadlines;
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency in full MS Office Suite;
- Willingness and availability to travel frequently is essential;
- Ability to communicate in Inuktut a definite asset; and
- Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Pass in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
