**Job Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Developing, implementing, and maintaining food safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Conducting frequent inspections and audits of facilities, processes, and protocols to detect potential hazards and areas in need of enhancement. Additionally, serving as a representative for internal and external audits.
- Providing training and guidance to employees on food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and HACCP principles.
- Investigating food safety incidents, complaints, or non-compliance issues and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance, production, and regulatory affairs, to address food safety concerns and implement best practices.
- Maintaining documentation and records related to food safety activities, including reports, policies, procedures, and training records.
- Staying informed about changes in food safety regulations, industry trends, and emerging risks, and recommending adjustments to food safety programs accordingly.
- Response daily customer requests.
- Handle foreign supplier approvals
- Annually complete Safe Food for Candian renewal for Olera Ingredients & Distribution Inc.,
- Annual complete CFIA feed products license.
- Handle external third party audits and inspections.
- Help in arranging sample analysis as is required by Olera sales team.
- Help in creating spec sheets as is needed with the help from the sales team.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:
**Knowledge**:

- Comprehensive understanding of food safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Familiarity with HACCP principles, and sanitation procedures.
- Knowledge of industry-specific requirements and emerging trends in food safety.
- PCQI and FSVPQI certifications are highly desired. Additional certifications such as HACCP certification, SQF, or BRC certification are advantageous.
- Proficiency in technical data sheet analysis.
- Familiarity with CFIB regulations and licensing procedures for food and feed products.

**Skills**:

- Strong analytical skills to assess food safety risks and identify areas for improvement.
- Effective communication skills to convey food safety protocols and train employees.
- Attention to detail to ensure compliance with regulations and maintain accurate records.
- Proficiency in clear and effective communication & Proficiency in analyzing results from third-party analytics

**Abilities**:

- Ability to develop, implement, and maintain effective food safety programs and policies.
- Capacity to conduct thorough inspections and audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Aptitude for collaboration with cross-functional teams to address food safety concerns and implement best practices.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Bachelor's degree in food science, food safety, or a related field/relevant certifications preferred.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 4 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, or a related field. Experience in the palm oil industry or similar sector is advantageous.
- **Regulatory Knowledge**: In-depth understanding of food safety regulations and standards, including FDA regulations and industry-specific requirements. Ability to stay updated on regulatory changes and best practices in the field.
- **Travel Requirements**:Must be willing and able to travel as needed for audits, inspections, and meetings with suppliers or regulatory agencies.
