**Our Team**:
As Manager, Fleet Management, you will lead a dynamic team committed to service excellence. Our team is a key support to every area of the organization by providing and maintaining the vehicles and equipment critical to public service. From ambulances to heavy equipment to police vehicles and snowplows, we keep them all rolling

**The Opportunity**:
As Manager, Fleet Management you will manage the corporate fleet management program of approximately 850 vehicles including Police, excluding transit, including policy and procedures, asset management, capital replacement planning, procurement and acquisition, motor pool and remarketing, preventive maintenance planning and repair, quality assurance and service standards.

You will supervise a Fleet Maintenance & Operations Supervisor and a Fleet Planning & Performance Supervisor and indirectly supervises additional unionized administrative and operations staff.

You will provide recommendations and technical assistance/advice to Regional and Police Services management and staff.

You will administer contracts with vendors and contractors and contact contractors and vendors to discuss repairs, work performance, scheduling, negotiations, costs, and other service requirements.

You will exchange information with other municipalities and government agencies.

You will manage vehicle and equipment 10-year capital replacement plan, and budget reserve.

You will manage procurement and acquisition strategy, oversee recommendations on vehicle/equipment solutions to clients, and corporate strategic initiatives.

You will prepare short
- and long-term business strategies, performance management initiatives, and quality assurance programs.

You will manage policy and procedure development and collaborate with health and safety, other management programs, and clients on same. You will ensure corporate compliance with related policies, procedures, initiatives, and legislative regulations.

You will manage preventive maintenance and repair programs.

You will manage the fleet management information system (FMIS), including fuel system data interfaces.

You will develop and administer service level agreements with clients and work with Finance to assist with incorporation into client operating budgets.

You will manage the corporate fleet motor pool, including vehicle redeployment programs, and short
- and long-term rental/leasing agreements.

You will provide expertise and implement initiatives to reduce carbon emissions for fleet vehicles and equipment.

You will collaborate with internal and external clients, and assist same by providing needs analysis, evaluation, and reporting. You will also respond to escalated client service-related complaints.

You will manage legislated vehicle and equipment inspections and liaise with ministries and Police regarding regulatory standards.

You will manage testing and studies using new technologies, products, and equipment.

You will manage a 24-hour fleet emergency service response program.

You will prepare and administer operating and capital budgets for the Section, as well as asset planning and maintenance budgets for approximately 850 vehicles and other equipment.

Performs related duties as required.

Knowledge of all aspects of fleet management, including strategic and business planning, financial management (cost recovery), asset management, life cycle analysis, information management systems, mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems, preventive maintenance management, procurement, and risk management, normally acquired through Fleet Management certification (e.g., Certified Automotive Fleet Management, Certified Public Fleet Professional) or a related degree/diploma, plus progressively responsible related experience.

Must be certified as an Automotive Service Technician and/or Truck & Coach Technician.

Knowledge of and ability to comply with policies, procedures, collective agreements, regulations, and legislation.
