Job Summary

Reporting to the Director, Investment Data Management Data Solutions, the Market Data Business Analyst is responsible for a broad range of vendor management related support activities to enhance our market data vendor practice. This will require knowledge of vendor management best practices and experience in establishing or supporting market data vendor management activities. The position also requires familiarity with investments instruments at a macro level as well as the ability to quickly develop a detailed understanding of the impact or our contracts to HOOPP’s investment Products & Strategies. The individual will be focused on enhancing our vendor management processes and documentation within Finance. The individual will support, enhance and champion strong vendor management practices across Finance.

What you will do:
- Support the overall delivery, and where applicable, recommend and develop enhancements to the Market Data Vendor Management process as it relates to investment data. This includes but is not limited to: Rebuild or enhancing the budget/inventory process; Review and expand documentation required to support vendor management resources; Document and recommend improvements to the current Cost Allocation process; Support processes related to the Finance Vendor Management Guidelines.- Review data vendor governance process for inclusion of compliance monitoring and appropriate usage and licensing, management of vendor risk, vendor due diligence.- Support development of and monitoring key vendor management metrics and KPI’s.- Evaluate the inventory management process to ensure current inventory is accurate and up-to-date. Advising on documentation practices to support user needs.- Support data collection for any required inquiries or projects- Review and analyze current Bloomberg data retrieval processes and recommend options to optimize associated data costs- Collect and consolidate data subscription details for inclusion in vendor benchmarking.- Remain on the “leading edge” of emerging data vendor management practices and technologies to identify and recommend opportunities for HOOPP to maintain a best in class vendor management strategy.- Provide market data vendor management expertise to Finance and other areas across HOOPP to establish strong practices.- Advise on standards, controls and procedures for the market data vendor management function to ensure administrative tasks are being completed in an accurate and timely manner.

What you bring:
- Minimum of 5 years in a business-focused vendor management related role, ideally within the Investment industry.- Experience with market data vendor management and administration is preferred.- Solid grasp of vendor management processes and leading best practices.- Strong verbal and written communications with prior experience presenting to Senior Management.- Ability to think conceptually and provide creative solutions to complex challenges and issues- Demonstrated experience in project and time management.- Able to take initiative and work well both independently and as part of a broader collaborative.- Ability to perform detail-oriented tasks under pressure, handle concurrent tasks and meet prescribed deadlines.- Post-secondary degree in a technical field (i.e. Finance, IT, Mathematics) is preferred.- Knowledge of investment instruments and relevancy of market data contracts is an asset.-
- Already possesses or is working towards a professional Financial Management designation recognized by the Investment industry (e.g. CFA, FRM, PRM) is an asset.- A commitment to demonstrating HOOPP values.
