**JOB OVERVIEW: Administrative Assistant, University Senate**

This position provides a wide variety of administrative services in support of the Kwantlen Polytechnic University Senate and various Senate committees.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of five years of progressive administrative experience in a similar position, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Knowledge of BC and Canadian post-secondary education systems, governance structures and policy development.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate multiple meetings involving numerous participants and varying schedules.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately record and transcribe meeting minutes.
- Excellent personal and professional management, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to juggle and prioritize tasks, work to deadlines and demands, make responsible decisions and determine when to seek advice.
- Demonstrated judgment, discretion and ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate professionally and effectively with a variety of individuals with diverse backgrounds and needs.
- Availability to work evenings, as required.
