**About the role**:
We are looking for someone to join our sustainability strategy team to work closely with the Director, Business Group Sustainability Strategy and support our business groups to deliver against our sustainability ambition. At Sun Life, our Purpose is to help our Clients achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives. Our focus on sustainability helps us bring this Purpose to life - and is central to our business strategy.

Our sustainability strategy team acts as a central resource to the business lines, guiding target development and roadmap implementation in collaboration with the International Sustainability Council and business representatives. The team sits within the corporate sustainability function and leads the work to embed sustainable practices into our strategies, business (processes and decision making) and talent. Supporting the team’s efforts is a network of sustainability practitioners from different business units and regions in which we operate.

The Manager role has a pivotal role in supporting strategy development in collaboration with business representatives, providing insights into trends and developments, and reporting and communications, and working closely with the Director, Business Group Sustainability Strategy.

**What will you do?**
- Support the implementation of the Sun Life Sustainability Plan & Strategy
- Support and execute action plans with business units across the company to embed sustainability further into their business strategies plans, and report on progress
- Collaborate with business partners to develop metrics and KPIs to measure outcomes against both internal objectives and external benchmarks
- Provide insight and advice to partners on best practices on sustainability topics, support various stakeholder engagement projects (e.g. Clients, employees etc.)
- Participate in external sustainability events to gather information and bring best practices to the organization
- Support the work of Sun Life’s International Sustainability Council
- Provide support for other sustainability initiatives as required

**What do you need to succeed?**
- Minimum 5 years experience in a sustainability role with a financial services firm or similar
- Dynamic, collaborative, proactive contributor, and team player with demonstrated ability to build rapport with colleagues and influence
- Strategic, commercially aware, and innovative mindset, with analytical and problem-solution skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in sustainability strategy development and how to implement in large organizations
- Well-organized and self-motivated, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines
- Proficiency in project management and demonstrated ability to coordinate and organize internal stakeholders
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Expertise on issues such as social impact, environmental impact, sustainable investing, and UN Sustainable Development Goals

**Preferred Skills**:

- Master’s degree in sustainability or equivalent an asset
