Reporting to the Vice President Agency Governance, you will act as a people leader within the Agency Governance group to contribute to the development of staff directly involved in supporting partner ministries regarding the provincial government’s decision-making process e.g. Treasury Board/Management Board of Cabinet and the overall capabilities of the team and IO as a whole. You will advance IO’s overall commitment to support the Province’s Infrastructure Plan to align and maximize the infrastructure investments with whole-of-government objectives and act as the primary expert within IO on current governance matters as advanced by relevant government ministries and agencies

**What You Will Do**:

- Lead in developing and maintaining key government relationships involving process associated with developing and analyzing proposals/submissions to the decision-makers.
- Deliver key recommendations to ministry partners and in some cases, may involve providing advice to Ministry senior management, including elected officials and their staff.
- Liaise and collaborate with Treasury Board Secretariat, Ministry of Infrastructure and relevant line ministries to facilitate agency and ministry communication and support collaboration and shared initiatives among public sector organizations.
- Lead a small team to review and conduct analysis working with Agency Governance team members and other SMEs across IO as necessary.
- Provide expert, strategic and authoritative advice to senior management and staff internally and externally associated with requests to government ensuring linkages to overarching infrastructure planning
- Facilitate collaborative approaches to planning, implementation and management of infrastructure

**What We Are Looking For**:

- Professional certification in public administration, business, economics, management is a definite asset
- Several years of progressively responsible experience in the infrastructure field with experience working in government or in a government relations role (ideally in the provincial sphere)
- Project management skills to provide proactive project planning, consultation/coordination with ministry and/or central agency partners
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work with teams across IO and the Ontario Public Service and associated agencies.
- Previous experience in a management role within a government ministry and understanding of governance and/or policy
- Experience in the implementation/delivery and/or oversight of capital projects
- Presentation Skills
- An understanding of the Ontario provincial government’s decision making process would be an asset

The salary range for this position is **$113,500 to $170,300 **with a corresponding job level of M3.
