Position Summary:
**Acuren is currently recruiting for a 1st year Apprentice Machinist/ Shop Laborer to work in Edmonton. **If you are passionate about sustainability, career growth, have experience or an active apprenticeship in Machining and want to be part of a diverse team this can be your opportunity

**Position Information**:
Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assists with the setup and operation of equipment alongside a working machinist
- General shop maintenance duties
- Reading blueprints to understand customer specifications
- Using a variety of tools to help the machinist set-up, operate, and repair machinery
- Machining in machine shop
- Maintaning safety and quality awareness
- Maintain cleanliness of shop and organize materials

**Requirements**:

- 1st year machinist apprenticeship or willingness to enrol is required
- 1-3 years labourer expereince required
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds etc.)
- Ability to solve problems and manage time effectively
- Self-motivated and capable of working at a high technical and performance level
- Valid driver's license
