Position Summary:

Acuren is currently recruiting for a 1st year Apprentice Machinist/ Shop Laborer to work in Edmonton. If you are passionate about sustainability, career growth, have experience or an active apprenticeship in Machining and want to be part of a diverse team this can be your opportunity

Position Information:

Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the setup and operation of equipment alongside a working machinist
  • General shop maintenance duties
  • Reading blueprints to understand customer specifications
  • Using a variety of tools to help the machinist setup, operate, and repair machinery
  • Machining in machine shop
  • Maintaning safety and quality awareness
  • Maintain cleanliness of shop and organize materials

Requirements:

  • 1st year machinist apprenticeship or willingness to enrol is required
  • 13 years labourer expereince required
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds etc.)
  • Ability to solve problems and manage time effectively
  • Selfmotivated and capable of working at a high technical and performance level
  • Valid driver's license
