We are looking for a Real Property Advisor to support our Real Property Planning and Management Branch. The Real Property Advisor would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

The incumbent plays a key role in supporting the NRC’s research and development facilities to ensure that the NRC’s real property transactions are in alignment with the objectives of the research centres.

**Screening Criteria**:
**Education**:
Post-Secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field to the position.

University degree will be considered an asset.

A Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation would be an asset.

**Experience**:

- Significant* experience in real property transactions related to leasing and licensing.
- Experience with developing and creating directives, guidelines and frameworks for real property transactions, leases, licence, acquisitions or disposals.
- Extensive experience with managing a complex real property portfolio, such as accommodations, tenants, leasing or licencing.
- Significant* experience managing a multidisciplinary team to providing guidance and evaluating performance.
- Extensive experience providing advice and recommendations in planning and conducting cost benefit analyses and risk management considerations for a real estate portfolio.
- Experience with risk management, negotiation and consultation processes and techniques that provide innovative opportunities and options and ultimately optimize outcomes for the client.
- Significant represents from 2 to 6 years.

**Technical Competencies**:

- Solid Knowledge of risk management principles and practices in real estate.
- Solid knowledge of trends and developments in the real estate market including accommodation, space management, appraisals and evaluation.
- Ability to organize and analyze complex information, such as cost estimates, cost recovery and cost benefit analysis and to write clear and concise reports and to make recommendations to senior management.
- Ability to manage multiple complex and competing priorities on a daily basis.

The following would be considered an asset:

- Knowledge of Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat Policy on the Directive on the Management of Real Property.

**Compensation**:
From $84,199 to $94,284 per annum.

In addition, the incumbent who meets the language requirements will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
