The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure plans and improves transportation networks, builds new infrastructure, provides transportation services and implements transportation policies. At its core the ministry moves and connects people, communities and goods across our transportation network safely, reliably and sustainably. The Strategic Planning, Priorities and Engagement (SPPE) Branch resides within the ministry’s Strategic and Corporate Priorities Division. The branch brings together strategic and corporate planning, cross-ministry coordination on priority initiatives, and staff and partner engagement through leadership of:

- Ministry strategic planning and reporting framework, development and delivery of corporate plans and reports, tracking and reporting on the ministry’s strategic priorities and, oversight and secretariat functions for the ministry’s expanded executive priority committees.
- Ministry communication and engagement strategy and tactics to support connection to the ministry’s vision and delivery of strategic priorities and to support staff engagement. This includes delivering important information for the public and partners through DriveBC, digital content and engagement platforms.
- The strategic coordination and execution of inter-governmental priorities and events for the ministry such as the Union of B.C. Municipalities Convention, the First Nations Leadership Gathering, and support as needed for meetings of Federal, Provincial and Territorial Ministers.

The Project Coordinator is responsible for leading and coordinating decision-making processes related to the various programs, events and projects administered by the team. The Project Coordinator has a project management role coordinating and implementing enhancements, developing and implementing business processes, communicating with stakeholders, participating on project teams. This position is also responsible for identifying and recommending project priorities and planning activities and opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of SPPE programs and services that contribute to the delivery of the branch's mandate. This position is also responsible for supporting the ministry’s participation in annual major events including the Union of British Columbia Municipalities Convention and the First Nations Leaders Gathering.

**Job Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in public or business administration, or a related field and a minimum of 1 year related experience*; OR
- Diploma in public or business administration, or a related field and a minimum of 3 years related experience*; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.- **RELATED EXPERIENCE MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING**:

- Experience managing projects and providing and coordinating services for projects and/or planning and managing large scale events.
- Experience assisting with the preparation and review of briefing documents and packages for senior executives.
- Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with all levels of staff and providing advice and guidance regarding to project requirements and issues.
- Experience working in a high paced environment with changing priorities.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage diverse workloads effectively and independently.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

**Preference may be given to applicants with the following**:

- A minimum of six months experience in a public service environment.
- Experience supporting or coordinating events.
