The Case Manager works independently in a high-conflict, fast-paced environment to manage quasi-judicial hearings by written and oral submissions under Part 4 of the Health Professions Act, Administrative Tribunals Act and the Review Board’s Rules of Practice and Procedure. Supports and advises tribunal members in the review and adjudicative process to ensure that it is in accordance with administrative law principles of natural justice and procedural fairness, applicable legislation, and case law.

The Case Manager Acts as navigator to guide applicants and complainants through the confidential review process to ensure access to justice, leads or participates in alternative dispute resolution processes and formal mediations, identifies systemic health professions regulatory issues or concerns, and develops guidelines and recommendations to assist colleges to ensure protection of the public by following registration, inquiry and discipline procedures that are transparent, objective, impartial and fair.

**Job Requirements**:
Education and Related Experience
- Masters degree in a directly related discipline and 1 year’s recent and related experience;
- Degree in Law, Public Administration or other directly related discipline and 2 years’ recent and related experience;
- Diploma in Public Administration or other directly related discipline and 4 years’ recent and related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred experience includes:

- case management experience in a justice sector environment or similar work in a review board, tribunal, oversight body, or judicial context
- experience in and knowledge of the BC health sector
- policy analysis and development at a senior level
- writing analytical and briefing documents, decision-writing or report-writing
- interpreting and administering legislation
- establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including individuals with disabilities, mental health challenges or other communication difficulties
