JSB provides direct family justice services through the Family Justice Services Division and the Maintenance, Enforcement and Locate Services. JSB works with administrative tribunals, the courts, the legal professions, other ministries, and a range of community agencies and associations to increase access to justice.

The Family Policy, Legislation and Transformation Division (FPLT) is a team of ministry staff responsible for private family justice policy and legislation. FPLT leads legislative amendment and reform projects regarding the following private family law statutes and associated regulations: the Family Law Act, the Family Maintenance Enforcement Act, and the Interjurisdictional Support Orders Act. FPLT provides policy support to ministry executive and the Attorney General throughout the legislative process. FPLT also leads the ministry’s involvement in a multi-year project to reform the Provincial Court Family Rules being conducted jointly with the Provincial Court judiciary. FPLT has responsibility for developing and leading the ministry’s family justice transformation strategy that includes a number of projects to improve the public’s access to information and services related to family justice. FPLT provides as needed policy support to the ministry’s Family Justice Services Division and Maintenance Enforcement and Locate Services. FPLT also participates as ministry representatives on Federal/Provincial/Territorial committees and working groups related to family justice policy and legislation.

**The Role**:
**Administrative Officer 18**:To support policy analysis, policy advisory services and the evaluation of issues impacting the Ministry’s business by conducting research and analysis.
**Administrative Officer 21**: To manage smaller policy development projects or portions of larger strategic policy development projects as assigned by a policy project lead.
**Administrative Officer 24**:To independently manage assigned policy development projects focused on the review and revision of existing ministry programs or legislation.

**Job Requirements**:

- Degree in public administration, dispute resolution, law, political science, social sciences, business administration, or equivalent.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis.
- Experience managing projects and/or project components.
- Experience working as a participant within a team and or committee
- Experience contributing to, preparing and/or writing formal documents, such as: correspondence, summary documents, briefing notes, discussion papers, reports and/or Cabinet Submissions.
- Experience conducting social policy research and/or analysis or working in the Justice Sector.
