**The Opportunity**

Metro Testing + Engineering Ltd is looking for a Business Development Specialist for Southern BC to expand our construction materials testing business portfolio for Burnaby and the surrounding areas. This position will be based out of our Burnaby head office. The ideal person will have a hunter mentality and experience in BC’s constriction industry.

We are one of the largest construction material testing companies in Western Canada with 13 offices and over 200 employees. For the last 30+ years, our technicians and engineers have been busy at our labs and on the road conducting testing of concrete, soil, and asphalt, geological and environmental for our customers in the construction industry. We completed over 50,000 projects and many of them were not only high profile but also long-term projects. None of these projects will be possible without the contributions from our dedicated team of engineers, geoscientists, technicians, technologists, and supporting staff.

**What you will be doing**:

- Direct and manage the business development cycle with a strategic focus on growing Metro’s construction materials testing business in the Lower Mainland
- Act as the main contact for Metro’s key clients.
- Regular business calls with construction companies, developers, and engineering firms to develop and maintain successful relationships.
- Facilitate business development meetings with prospects and clients.
- Work with estimators to develop materials testing and engineering solutions and proposals for prospects and clients.
- Follow up with prospects and clients on submitted proposals.
- Act as Metro’s representative at conferences, industry events and company sponsored events.

**What you will get**:

- Salary starts at $90,000 + bonus + commission.

**Who you need to have**:

- 5 + years of Business Development experience in the Construction Materials Testing, geotechnical and environmental engineering, or related industry.
- Background in civil engineering and sales through a blend of education and/or experience
- Driver’s Licence and access to a personal vehicle
- Experience in selling to C-Suites, Project Managers, and Project Engineers in Southern BC
- Experience in identifying and connecting with decision makers.
- Experience in facilitating meetings and presenting in front of construction industry professionals.
