The salary range represents the minimum and maximum salary for the position. Employees are usually hired between the minimum and mid point of the salary range.

Full/Part Time: Full-Time contract to August 30, 2024, with possibility for extension

The Opportunity

The Business Systems Specialist provides hands-on support to the full systems development life cycle. You use data and analytics to drive solutions to organizational business problems and help in identifying and recommending improvements, ensuring organizational and staff needs are met. You are a change agent and collaborate with staff to identify gaps. You train and motivate others to use these processes and systems you help design and develop. You provide basic IT troubleshooting and equipment support. In collaboration with the Business Systems Manager, you help problem solve various issues as they arise. The Business Systems Specialist incorporates BCITSA’s equity, diversity and inclusion values into their work and professional relationships.

What You Will Do:
PROJECT COORDINATION
- Build trust and collaborate with staff, facilitating development of business process and workflow improvements, automation, and clear end-to-end implementation plans
- Collect and document business requirements for software use and process improvement initiatives
- Create process documentation and workflows for business operations and IT services
- Obtain and manipulate data to drive decision making and provide recommendations
- Implement, configure, and maintain systems and tools
- Complete tasks and duties for projects on time
- Collaborate with Business Systems Manager and team members on projects, and provide supervision to volunteers on occasion

OPERATIONAL DUTIES
- Understand and follow all policies and procedures
- Maintain portfolio records, statistics and security with the strictest confidentiality
- Be proactive and identify risks, inconsistencies, inefficiencies, and problems with existing processes, systems, and data
- Be accountable for mistakes and come up with solutions
- Perform gap analysis on business operations & systems
- Conduct research & stay up to date on technological advancements and best practices
- Develop and deliver training for business and systems processes and procedures
- Troubleshoot, move, and replace IT equipment
- Relationship Building, Networking and Communication
- Manage and cultivate authentic relationships with all staff and key internal and external stakeholders
- Act as a BCITSA representative on any relevant committees
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Business or Data Analytics/ Business Operations Management/ Business IT Management or education in a relevant field.
