**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**_SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:_**
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department, being an expert resource for solving issues and advising on areas for improvement.
- Coach and mentor team members, as well as recruiting and training new team members.
- Provides constructive and timely performance feedback.
**_ DUTIES:_**
- Keen to “roll up your sleeves” and understand the complexity of our business and pay structures.
- Ensures compliance with payroll regulations (federal, state/provincial, local) as well as Workers’ Compensation, including any related third-party audits.
- Expert in executing bi-weekly payroll and year-end procedures, including maintaining accurate records thereof.
- Prepares and maintains standard and ad hoc reports and ensures data integrity.
- Collaborate with Finance department to reconcile payroll-related accounts, support audits by providing records and ensure financial accuracy on a timely basis.
- Oversees the accurate and timely processing of new hires, promotions, terminations, and pay rate changes, as well as ensuring the relevant data is integrated accurately with other systems as required (ie to the LMS, external savings plan and benefit administrators etc).
- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of all payroll transactions/components.
- Desire to learn the backend of the system to troubleshoot issues or reconfigure for new requirements.
- Takes pride in offering a high level of service - responds to any payroll and benefit-related inquiries quickly and accurately.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**_REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: _**
- Expert knowledge of Canada and US Payroll (including FLSA, DOL, IRS and other payroll laws/regulations) is required, along with keeping current on changing regulations and updating our systems and processes accordingly.
- Strong leadership skills, enjoy achieving results through teams.
- Extensive knowledge of the entire payroll function including internal controls and segregation of duties.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Understand the interrelatedness of HR and Payroll business processes and strive to maximize efficiencies.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and BI reporting tools
- Relevant industry experience in oilfield services preferred.
- Proficient with inhouse payroll systems, preferably UKG
**_ EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:_**
- Payroll certification in both U.S. and Canada is required.
- 10+ years of specific payroll administration experience in a multi-company and multi-state/province/jurisdiction environment with a minimum of 2 years’ leadership experience
