The City of Edmonton continues to build, revitalize, activate and protect our open spaces. We are looking for a Project Coordinator to help us plan and design our open spaces.

With a focus on the City of Edmonton’s Cultural Commitments to Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, you will:

- Prepare budget estimates and schedules and monitor adherence to budget, schedule and scope for open space capital projects
- Review preliminary drawings and reports
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications, contract documents and regulatory requirements
- Provide project management oversight and guide community partners in the successful management of their project, in accordance with the City of Edmonton policies, procedures and processes
- Liaise with the business partner throughout the project
- Lead or support a team in the public engagement process and implementation
- Prepare project documentation per the project management methodology, policies and processes and other requirements
- Develop, evaluate and recommend options for effective and cost beneficial solutions
- Prepare and execute consulting agreements
- In collaboration with the team members, issue contemplated changes and change orders, and track change management
- Track and monitor costs and report on project variances
- Recommend and implement mitigation strategies for contractual changes in scope, schedule or budget
- Ensure the project abides by any applicable City of Edmonton Occupational Health and Safety Standards and Guidelines and environmental regulations and requirements
- Perform other related duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of a degree in a related field such as Urban and Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Engineering, Applied Science or Project Management and a minimum of two (2) years directly related experience in project management for infrastructure planning, design, construction or an area of specialization related to parks and open space planning and design

**OR**
- Completion of a Diploma in a related field such as Urban and Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Engineering, Applied Science or Project Management and a minimum of four (4) years directly related experience in project management for infrastructure planning, design, construction or an area of specialization related to parks and open space planning and design
- Coursework or training in project coordination or project management is an asset
- Solid understanding of construction processes related to architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and landscaping disciplines is required
- Strong project coordination skills including an understanding of project management methods and techniques (PMBOK best practices)
- Demonstrated experience working with multi-disciplinary teams in the delivery of projects related to open space planning and design
- Proven planning, organizational and problem solving skills
- Experience supporting public engagement processes
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to develop strong relationships and work in a collaborative, integrated manner
- Experience working with external consultants and contractors
- Working knowledge of relevant codes, legislation, regulations, policies and procedures (OH&S, Environmental, Builders Lien Act, etc.)

**_ Up to 1 temporary, full-time position for up to 18 months in accordance with Article 18.02 of the Collective Agreement_**

**Hours of Work**: 33.75 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Note: This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite as per the Letter of Understanding between the City of Edmonton and Civic Service Union 52.
