**DIRECTOR, PEOPLE RECRUITMENT & TOTAL REWARDS**

**The opportunity**
At BC Ferries, our people are our most valuable asset. We are searching for a Director, People Recruitment & Total Rewards to lead the development of innovative and impactful recruitment strategies. In this role, you will provide strategic direction on recruitment initiatives, external partnerships, and operational recruitment activities. Additionally, you will implement total rewards programs and manage compensation and benefits programs to support the attraction and retention of top talent.
As a Director, People Recruitment & Total Rewards, you are also responsible for leading the reporting, design, compliance and funding estimates of the compensation, benefits, and classification programs to ensure competitiveness and to achieve the goals of BC Ferries strategic goals.
**The Role**
Reporting to the Vice President, People and Safety, you add value and are energized by key areas of oversight such as:
- Developing and executing on recruitment strategies that support the overall workforce plan
- Leading the development of department goals, objectives, and systems for effective recruitment and talent development
- Developing and implementing processes that foster team success and establishing clear performance review plans for the team
- Working with local partners to increase awareness of the marine industry within BC as well as setting up international pipelines for talent,
- Leading annual compensation cycles, including the salary review process, participation in external surveys and management of incentive compensation programs
- Managing executive compensation programs and supporting the Chief People Officer in their management and development, including the preparation of executive compensation disclosure information
- Providing governance to the job evaluation process to ensure and maintain internal equity and compliance with employment standards across the organization
- Developing, implementing, communicating and monitoring corporate People policies, and recommending modifications based on organizational strategic plans, applicable legislation, and market trends
- Participating in strategic discussions with various stakeholders concerning initiatives and changes in organizational structures and compensation programs
- Leading competitive market research to establish pay practices and pay bands that help to recruit and retain top talent
**What you bring to the team**
You have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline. Master’s Degree preferred. You bring 10+ years of progressive experience in talent management, recruitment, compensation and classification. You also have 7-9 years of experience in developing HR strategies aligned with broader strategic business goals. As well as 7-9 years of experience in compensation design, development, and administration across various organizational levels such as union, exempt, managers, directors and VP's.
