**The opportunity**
Join us to chart a course into the future with a focus on our greatest asset - our People.
As a vital part of the People & Safety team, this brand new position of Director, People & Organizational Development is a senior leadership role in the organization and one that will have broad influence to drive cultural transformation across BC Ferries by building high performance teams, developing leaders, and managing talent.
In this role, you are responsible for the strategic development of talent and culture programming aligned with BC Ferries strategic objectives. You influence organization wide change and culture, performance management, professional development and learning programs and equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
**The Role**
Reporting to the Vice President, People and Safety, you add value and are energized by key areas of oversight such as:
- Developing and implementing innovative culture programming initiatives aimed at fostering a positive and inclusive work environment
- Designing and executing talent development programs focused on identifying, nurturing, and retaining top talent within the organization
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess organizational needs and create tailored strategies to promote organizational culture and engagement
- Represents, and speaks for BC Ferries with external organizations and agencies to advance the interests of the organization including detailed research and publishing to raise the profile of BC Ferries as an employer of choice
- Fostering leadership development and equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives across the organization
- Leading the execution of the organization-wide learning & development strategy with a 3-year roadmap
- Driving the growth of our top talent by ensuring they are identified and have robust development plans to support their professional and career objectives
- Lead and implement innovative safety culture programs
- Implements change management activities to enhance successful implementations

You are a relationship-builder with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work with, and be sensitive to diverse populations and needs the ability to work with people in stressful situations. You seek a role where you can make a difference every day.
You have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, I/O Psychology, or related discipline. Master’s Degree preferred. You bring 10+ years of experience in an organizational effectiveness, needs assessment, change management role in a senior management capacity with a proven rack record in business transformation. You also have 10+ years of experience in designing and implementing learning & business transformation along with 4+ years experience in diversity, equity & inclusion.
