- Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are looking for a Manager, Signals to join our team**What You Will Do**:

- Reporting to the Head - Signals/Electrical/Communications, you will be responsible for planning, directing, managing and coordinating the activities of the Signals’ section with an emphasis on operational efficiency and cost effectiveness. You will provide your expertise with regards to the inspection, maintenance and replacement of Signal assets and systems for subway lines, yards and related properties. You will diagnose complex operational problems and provide technical and administrative solutions for the rehabilitation of existing and the addition of new systems/facilities. In this position, you will also be required to respond to emergency and unforeseen demands, in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring uninterrupted subway service or minimizing disruptions to service of various systems.As Manager - Signals, you will provide extensive project management expertise and leadership to relevant project teams in all phases and activities for the multi-year, multi-million dollar capital program, from planning through construction, testing and commissioning. You will be responsible for ensuring agreement of project objectives, monitoring client participation on the project team and integrating client groups in the commissioning process. Your ability to maintain effective working relationships with various and diverse, internal and external contacts will allow you to identify project requirements, schedules, impacts, and other interrelated matters.- You will be responsible for the supervision, management and recruitment of staff and unionized employees. This involves delegating assignments, evaluating performance, and ensuring technical training of subordinates with an emphasis on high quality work and health and safety. While you will counsel and commend employees, you will also investigate infractions, grievances, injuries and accidents, while determining appropriate remedial or disciplinary action. You will also participate in the preparation and evaluation of job descriptions and administration of postings, ensuring compliance with terms of the Collective Agreement. In addition, you will represent the Commission, and provide support, by reviewing union demands, assessing their feasibility and making recommendations during negotiations with the union.- You will prepare a variety of correspondence (i.e. reports, analyses, letters, estimates, presentations, etc.) and ensure timely reporting of financial and performance results, including any significant cost, security, safety, human resources and other engineering issues. You will participate in the development of annual goals and objectives, prepare appropriate operating and capital budgets and maintain an efficient organizational structure.- As a TTC employee, you will be responsible for promoting a respectful work and service environment that supports diversity, inclusion, and is free from harassment and discrimination.
