**Position**: Part-time Administrative Assistant

**Start date**:April 2024

**Salary**: Based on L’Arche Canada’s Compensation Policy. Starting wage is $22.01 with room to negotiate based on previous experience, skills, and education.

**Responsible To**: Assistants Coordinator

The Administrative Assistant is a member of the office and administration team, responsible for the administration of HR files, on-boarding, entry/update of HR data for all employees, scheduling, and assisting with payroll. Other tasks include various administrative duties that help support the Leadership Team. The Administrative Assistant works in partnership with the Assistants Coordinator and other Coordinators to ensure scheduling of required training, completion of required employee documentation, and that policies and government standards in the homes and programs are provided and properly administered.

**Location**:

- Primary location will be the main office at 16 Edward St South

**Major Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Supports HR with filing, data entry, and payroll.
- Supports members of leadership and office team with other administrative tasks.
- In collaboration with other administrative assistants, orders and maintains office equipment and supplies i.e. postage machine, photocopier, water supplies etc. and helps to maintain the office environment in a safe, clean, and tidy manner.

**Qualifications**:

- OSSD or equivalent; or knowledge and/or training in HR practices, and data base organizational systems
- Clear police check including vulnerable sector screening
- Is organized and able to set priorities and follow-through on commitments in a timely fashion
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good administrative skills, organized and demonstrates time management skills
- Ability to problem solve, assist in reaching solutions and obtaining necessary resources
- Knowledge of computer software. (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)

**Particulars**:

- Office hours are Monday to Friday 8:30-4:30, hours of the role 20-30/week, to be negotiated.
