**Advisor, Housing Initiatives**:
**Job Summary**:
Reporting to the Manager, Halton Community Housing Corporation, the Housing Initiatives Advisor is responsible for supporting the effective operations of the Housing Corporation through policy and business process development, evaluation and reporting, and leading HCHC initiatives.

In addition, The Housing Initiatives Advisor may provide strategic advice and support to a number of strategic priorities and initiatives of the Division and Department.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Support the effective operation of the Housing Corporation through policy and business process development, evaluation and reporting.
- Provide oversight and administration of strategic initiatives, including the creation and operation of Wellness Hubs in HCHC communities.
- Ensure the successful implementation of the strategic actions of the HCHC Community Development Strategy.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to support the expansion of the HCHC portfolio through the development and acquisition of new properties.
- Facilitate strategic partnerships with governmental, private sector and community partners.
- Measure and report on outcomes associated with HCHC operations and undertake regular program evaluations ensuring continuous improvement and efficient, effective service delivery.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support Divisional, Departmental and Corporate-wide priorities.

**Skills & Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- Degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in Human Services or Social Services.
- At least three to five (3-5) years of experience in a policy, program development, project management and/or program evaluation role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of community housing issues and priorities, proficiency in business process improvement, as well as direct experience working with community organizations as partners in the delivery of programs and services.
- Highly developed consulting, organizational, administrative, project management and teamwork skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary to effectively communicate with stakeholders as well as develop and maintain credible strategic relationships with community partners.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

**Preferred**
- LEAN training is an asset.
- Proficiency with Yardi software
- Experience in the housing industry.

**Working/Employment Conditions**:
**Working Conditions**
- Some travel is required, the incumbent must supply their own transportation.
- The incumbent may be required to fulfill roles and responsibilities outlined in the Halton Region Emergency Social Services plan. Roles and responsibilities may include coordinating an emergency social services response and on-call duties. Additional hours and shift work may be required to fulfill these functions.
