**KEY FUNCTION**:
Lead and manage the NEO Kids Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Diagnostric hub. Work collaboratively with the pediatricians in the Kids Care Centre (KCC) administering Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule - second edition (ADOS-2) testing in a full clinic setting.

**REPORTING**:
Under the general direction of the Clinical Manager, Pediatric Ambulatory Care Unit, with accountability to the Regional Autism Lead, Child and Community Resources.

**DUTIES**:

- Collaborate with the Pediatricians at the Kids Care Centre to provides ADOS-2 assessments.
- Review and prepare ADOS client files.
- Work collaboratively with all current referral sources for Autism Diagnostic Services within the districts.
- Schedule, book and register clients for ADOS Clinic using Community Wide Schedulling (CWS) and OCEANS e-referrals.
- Work collaboratively with other Diagnostic Leads and stakeholders across the North.
- Participate in monthly meetings with Diagnostic Hub Leads from other areas of the Northern Region as a part of the Diagnostic Network facilitated by Child and Community Resources.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders/organizations/community groups to achieve program objectives, integrate and link services and foster partnerships across the continuum of service delivery.
- Serve as the access point for diagnostic assessments in the Sudbury and Manitoulin regions.
- Assume responsibility for the diagnostic wait list.
- Review, screen, and triage all referrals.
- Provide support to families and clients while they wait for their assessment.
- Evaluate patient care and satisfaction on an ongoing basis and formulate solutions for improvement.
- Review the literature and scientific studies and stay current with changes or developments in the fields of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- Determine and align improvement projects with HSN’s Strategic Plan; monitor and adjust to achieve goal outcomes.
- Participate in education and training specific to current, relevant federal and provincial health and safety legislation, standards and guidelines.
- Educate and promote health, safety and wellness in the work place.
- Represent the department or program on various committees and in meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**EDUCATION AND TRAINING**:

- Minimum of a four (4) year Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field, from an accredited university.
- Master’s Degree from an accredited university is preferred.
- ADOS-2 certification is required.
- Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Minimum of two (2) years working in a pediatric department within a healthcare environment.
- Experience in leading/coordinating projects within health system(s) is required.
- Experience in community outreach and building partnerships and familiar with current theory and techniques of community engagement is required.
- Experience with ADOS-2 testing is preferred.
- Experience supporting/leading autism intakes, referrals or assessments is preferred.

- Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging trends in autism services.
- Demonstrated ability to make critical decisions affecting a patients safety, health status and independence/autonomy.
- Demonstrated ability to practice in a self-directed manner.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities, problem solve and manage conflict effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to gather, manage, analyse and report data, both primary and secondary sources.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation and principles of management, hospital committee structure, conflict management and resolution, system needs analysis and organizational assessment.
- Demonstrated training, experience or utilization of lean methodology for process improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to independently identify issues, plan improvements, measure success and continue improvement.
- Demonstrated excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook) and patient information systems.
- Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to organize and prioritize as required.
- Demonstrated discretion and maturity when handling confidential information.
- Demonstrated commitment to the safety of co-workers and patients.
