- how to effectively communicate with that demographic. As part of the Human Resources team, the Pay and Benefits Administrator plays
- a vital function for UCN, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, that they are properly enrolled in benefits programs, and
- that accurate employee records and audit trails are maintained. The position will be responsible for preparing, balancing, verifying, and
- recording all payroll transactions, as well as administration of benefit plans and producing various bi-weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
- The Pay and Benefits Administrator must ensure that all responsibilities are performed with due regard to confidentiality and in accordance
- with applicable legislation, the Collective Agreement, benefit plan provisions, human resource and payroll policies and procedures. All
- pay is processed using an on-line system (Ceridian Dayforce). This position will have flexibility and offers a hybrid schedule to work from
- home and in the office. This position is considered an excluded position for union requirements.**_REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS _**:

- Completion of a relevant post-secondary program- Minimum 2 years’ experience administrating Canadian payroll and/or benefits (i.e. experience processing full cycle payrolls,

processing T4s, managing reports for Tax Canada, and Workers Compensation claims management, or experience
administrating benefit plans such as Group and Dependents Insurance and pension plans)
- Relevant combination of education, training and experience may be considered
- Ability to interpret and explain policy and procedures, collective agreement, and legislation
- Extensive skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Adobe, Word, Outlook)
- Customer service-orientated communication skills
- Ability to work well independently, as well as in a team
- Critical to the positions is strong attention to detail
- Effective organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, meet strict timelines, often with overlapping deadlines
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to problem solve efficiently
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and the handling of sensitive information
- Commitment to life-long learning

**_ASSETS _**:

- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Certification or willing to obtain- Working knowledge of federal and provincial legislation related to payroll /statutory payroll deductions
- Experience working in a unionized workplace
- Experience using an online payroll/HRIS system, such as Ceridian Dayforce
- Experience and/or knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures
