About Our Opportunity

The Corporate Services Division requires a student for the summer of 2024. Working closely with the department’s records and information management staff, the student will gain practical experience and knowledge of working in a provincial government records management environment.

Primary Accountabilities

Under supervision of the Records Analyst 2, as the summer student your responsibilities will include:
Using scanning equipment to digitize paper documents.
Renaming digital records according to an approved file naming convention.
Accurately entering data on records into the department’s records management system.
Inventorying and preparing records for off-site storage and/or final disposition (destruction).
Searching and retrieving files for departmental staff on request.
Organizing historical government records in preparation for transfer to the provincial archives.
Completing other inventory or process improvement tasks as required.
Checking work to ensure it’s complete and accurate to minimize errors and duplication of work.
Qualifications and Experience

Knowledge of online meeting platforms such as MS Teams is also an asset.

Working Conditions

Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day.
You must be able to lift boxes of documents weighing up to 40 lbs.
Additional Information

This opportunity will start approximately May 6, 2024 with an end date of August 30, 2024.

**Salary Range**: $17.86 - $29.11 Hourly
