Humber’s Faculty of Media and Creative Arts offers the most comprehensive mix of media, arts and communications programs in Canada. Position Title: Coordinator, Music Technology and Networks

Status: Full Time, Support

Hours: 40hrs/wk

Faculty/Department: Faculty of Media & Creative Arts

Campus/Location: Lakeshore

**Salary**: Payband I (Min) $36.19 (Max) $41.94

**What you will do**:
The incumbent is responsible for:

- the maintenance, configuration, and deployment of pro audio and recording equipment, computer, A/V networking, and any other audio-visual related technologies in the music department and is the lead technologist for the professional recording studio facilities.
- researching and recommending purchases of professional audio-visual equipment and computing equipment for the music area and, when requested, to the rest of FMCA.
- providing technical support to faculty, staff and students on pro audio equipment and computer-related issues which may include, software, hardware installation and repair.
- playing a leadership role in coordinating all projects having to do with professional audio recording equipment, music computers and A/V networks.
- regularly liaising with the IT department for the configuration, testing and deployment of software in specialized music labs.
- facilitating technical support for department projects, concerts, and events and support applied research processes in the media and performing arts area.
- Additional duties include equipment scheduled maintenance, assisting with on and off-campus performance and recording events, maintaining the music facilities' online room booking systems, and the recording studios' online help desk system.

**What you bring to the role**

**Education**

Expereince
- Minimum of three (3) years of practical work experience in a professional environment.

**Skills**
- Ability to work with Windows, and Mac OS; music production software; engineer and coordinate recording sessions; install and configure pro audio equipment; research and advise the administration on equipment purchase; show creativeness in software and equipment trouble-shooting and problem-solving; perform data recovery on defective computer hard drives; evaluate future technological requirements and provide supporting documented research; learn and implement new multi-media software on short notice; generate multi-media content for presentation and/ or duplication; maintain professional audio equipment (solder audio and video cables, connectors and components).
- In addition to the required technical skills, the incumbent must have excellent organizational skills, the ability to work effectively as a team member and ability to work with minimum supervision in a timely manner.
