**Advantages**

**Scope**

Human Resources, Health &Safety, WHMIS, Employment Standards, First Aid Training, Compliance, Employee Training, Special Projects as directed by the President of the company.

This position reports to: President

**Responsibilities**
- Provides information and guidance to company managers and employees, on all HR matters, including Employment Standards Act, Ministry of Labour regulations, WHMIS, and other governing bodies. Also, ensures the company and employees are in compliance with all Human Resources requirements, laws and policies.
- Recruitment of new employees, coordinating and participating in interviews, and welcoming new employees with complete education and training of company policies, procedures, and health & safety.
- Responsible for handling employee relations issues.
- Produces Employee Performance Review criteria, coordinates and participates in annual performance appraisals.
- Produces Employee disciplinary criteria, coordinates and participates in disciplinary appraisals.
- Liaison with the company legal advisors, managers and employees.
- Continuously collects data and industry information related to best practices, compensation and Health & Safety standards.
- Develops and implements and continuously improves the company’s human resources policies and practices, and communicates and trains these policies on a perpetual basis.
- Oversees the organization’s health and safety program, WSIB claims management, coordinates health and safety training, and participates as a management member of the joint health and safety committee.
- Works in conjunction with the Controller to review and authorize bi-weekly payroll as well as management and administration of group benefits.
- Works in conjunction with the Controller to review company group benefits, and other compensation matters.

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Labour Relations or equivalent experience.
- CHRP, CHRL designation preferred or equivalent experience (with a willingness to complete relevant designations).
- Experience in HR and Health & Safety functions in Ontario is a requirement.
- Experience in HR and Health & Safety in Quebec is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in Training of Policies and Procedures, Health & Safety, First Aid, WHMIS, and more.
- Ability to establish relationships and communicate effectively with all employees of the company, including those working in corporate, senior management, finance, administration, warehouse operations.
