**The Role**

This position provides support to members of the Data Team, Information Technology, and other WBEA staff regarding software programming and database management. This includes maintaining and developing databases for Ambient Air, Deposition, and Odour Monitoring Programs, Integrated Sample Data, and Air Quality Events (AQE) tracking. This position is responsible for the WBEA’s Data Management Systems and this also includes supporting WBEA’s internal software projects and services. The Data Program Analyst must be able to communicate and discuss with colleagues the work status, report on issues as they arise, and propose and enact solutions.

The Data Program Analyst is required to maintain and improve internal WBEA software projects and work closely with IT and other personnel to ensure needs are correctly interpreted and solutions are practical and efficient. The majority of the work is for the environmental monitoring programs and the Analyst will be expected to have the most knowledge in this capacity.

**Position Responsibilities**
- Codes, tests, debugs, implements, and documents internal WBEA programs. Assists in the modification of WBEA products to meet the needs of the end-user.
- Maintain and improve WBEA’s software programs related to:

- AQE detection and notification system
- WBEA Samples Database
- WBEA Website
- Continuous Data Viewer Programs
- Online Portal for Employee Documentation and Sample Flow Information
- Import and transfer of Gas Chromatograph data
- Support WBEA in the dissemination of routine monthly reports and data.
- Provide technical support to WBEA personnel responding to data requests and inquiries.
- Continually improve WBEA documentation and internal learning resources.
- Adhere to the WBEA Employee Manual and the WBEA Safety Manual.

**Qualifications**:

- Have 5+ years of experience in computer sciences, programming, and database management, preferably dealing with environmental monitoring;
- Preferred skills include working with Microsoft.NET environment, advanced C# proficiency, and experience with MSSQL and MySQL databases;
- Have a post-secondary degree or diploma in computer science, computer engineering, or similar technical field from an accredited college or university;
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills;
- Have exceptional oral and written communication skills;
- Have a strong aptitude for self-learning and technological skills;
- Must maintain high levels of discretion when dealing with confidential information;
- Maintain high-quality work with great attention to detail and accuracy;
- Have a working knowledge of the Alberta Air Monitoring Directive 2016;

**Schedule**:Full-time, 40 hours per week at 8 hours per day from Monday to Friday. Overtime may be required periodically, depending on operational needs.

**Employment Status**: Full-time, permanent

**Salary**:$81,000.00 - $105,000.00
