**Coordinator of Volunteer Programs and Services**

**Location**: Newton Site (with occasional travel to South Surrey office)
**Hours**: Monday-Friday 9:00am-4:30pm (37.5 hours per week) with occasional evenings or weekends for community events
**Reporting to**: Director of People and Culture

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Volunteer Management**: Oversee all volunteer programs, including the Friendly Visitor Program, Telephone Tree, and CVITP tax clinic.
- **Recruitment & Support**: Recruit, screen, interview, select, and support volunteers, ensuring they feel appreciated and connected.
- **Orientation & Training**: Develop and conduct orientation sessions, training programs, and volunteer appreciation events.
- **Policy Development**: Assist in creating program policies, procedures, and measurement tools.
- **Community Partnerships**: Build and manage partnerships within the community, fostering collaborative relationships.
- **Event Planning**: Plan and execute training sessions, focus groups, special events, and fundraising initiatives.
- **Data Management**: Ensure accurate and timely data entry to maintain client and volunteer databases.
- **Reporting**: Compile reports and statistics as needed for funding requirements.
- **Client Support**: Ensure all clients and volunteers feel supported in their roles and within the community.

**Skills and Abilities**:

- **Older Adult Population**: Strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by older adults.
- **Time Management**: Excellent time management and organizational skills, especially with scheduling and database management.
- **Communication**: Effective communicator with excellent written skills; a second language is an asset.
- **Facilitation & Coaching**: Strong workshop facilitation and coaching abilities.
- **Cultural Competence**: Ability to work with diverse populations, understanding cultural differences, and working collaboratively.
- **Technical Proficiency**: Proficient in MS Office, Teams, Zoom, Excel, PowerPoint, and Canva.

**Experience and Education**:

- **Preferred**: Education in Volunteer Management.
- **Asset**: Experience in Human Resources or related human/social services fields.
- **Required**: 2 years of experience in volunteer coordination.

**Knowledge**:

- Social services, non-profit organizations, and community resources in the Surrey and White Rock area.
- Canadian Volunteer Income Tax Program and senior’s housing programs and services.
- Event planning and coordination.

**Other Requirements**:

- Reliable transportation.
- Basic First Aid/CPR certificate (an asset).
- Food Safe certificate (an asset).

Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
