Job Description: The Talent Acquisition Specialist is a highly visible role responsible for developing and leading the overall strategy and execution of the Talent Acquisition function for Honda Canada Inc. This role will drive innovative and progressive strategies, execution of best practices, processes, analytics and technology enablement. This role will work closely with business leaders, HR Business Partners and HR centres of excellence to deliver exceptional talent to meet current and future business requirements.
This role will identify opportunities to promote Honda as an employer of choice and will work with the centres of excellence within the Human Resources department to develop best practices related to recruitment. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will focus on implementing continuous improvement to recruitment practices; identify new recruitment sources and channels. This role will monitor trends in the job market with a particular focus in the automotive industry and will provide metrics to enable the company to make strategic business decisions.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Strategic Talent Acquisition**
- Liaises with hiring managers to understand their business and hiring needs
- Aligns talent acquisition approach with organizational objectives and provides recommendations on the strategic direction of the recruitment
- Collects and analyzes recruitment data and statistics on a monthly basis
- Develops actionable insights and delivers presentations on the Talent Acquisition direction to HR Management
- Monitors Honda’s presence on recruitment sites such as LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, etc.
- Researches best practices, designs, implements and maintains a positive onboarding experience for new hires and newly transferred associates

HR Admin Tasks*
- Input all new hire/transfers/promotions/terminations into Workday
- Monitor contract and temporary associate end dates through monthly reporting
- Assist with complete monthly internal audits, track and administer weekly reports to IT
- Notifies stakeholders of required system access termination, completes daily/weekly Workday reporting and reconciles IT ticket numbers to track completion
- Performs other duties and ad hoc projects as required
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Completed post-secondary education
- 2 -3 years of Human Resources experience with recruitment as a component of role in a corporate environment
- Previous experience in automotive, financial services or similar environment
- Previous employee relations experience an asset
- Knowledge of best-in-class strategies for onboarding and recruitment
- Demonstrated ability to design, develop and manage large scale comprehensive projects; strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in building PowerPoint presentations as well as utilizing project management timeline tools - Workback schedules, Gantt charts etc.
- Ability to build tracking tools using Excel
- Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging social media to build a talent pipeline with positive outcomes such as cost savings as well as building on Honda Canada’s employment brand and highlight our outreach initiatives
- Passion for the process of getting others excited from an onboarding perspective to the point that they are engaged and making a positive contribution to the company
- Ability to build strong relationships
- The ability to partner with the HR team overall and work well independently
- The ability to be an ambassador for Honda Canada at relevant events (e.g., trade shows, university job fairs)
- Strong organizational skills
- Adapts well to a dynamic work environment
- Solid prioritization skills and can deliver under tight deadlines
