The Team Lead of Dispatch is responsible for the dispatch function for conventional bus operations, including supervision of the dispatchers, the daily assignment of vehicles and operators to service, bus operator timekeeping, and bus radio communications.

This posting is for one permanent full-time position.

**Responsibilities**
- Coordinates the work of the dispatch function
- Supervise the daily assignment of vehicles and operators to service
- Reviews bus operator timekeeping for accuracy in coordination with the transit payroll function
- Coordinates the delivery of dispatch services and acts as primary point of contact
- Provides effective and efficient resource management, including risk management
- Responsible for complying with all Strathcona County and departmental work rules and policies

**Skills and Abilities**
- Must have a strong knowledge of transit system operations rules and regulations
- Demonstrated ability to analyze information and to make sound decisions quickly and in difficult situations
- Must have excellent communication skills and good customer service practices
- Ability to respond to questions and provide accurate information to transit operators
- Establishes effective working relationships with coworkers and other county employees, as well as able to communicate politely and cooperatively
- Ability to perform and exercise sound judgment in stressful or emergent situations
- Ability to learn and work with office technology and programs, as well as maintain basic records and complete reports

**Qualifications**
- Post secondary specialized training or certificate with a minimum of 5 years progressive experience in transit operations or logistics. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including team building capabilities
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

**Conditions of Employment**
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license minimum
- May be required to work a variety of shifts; staggered work shifts, unscheduled overtime, nights and/or weekends.

**Salary**: $68,868.80-$86,070.40 per year
