Your Opportunity:
The Alberta Health Services (AHS) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Operations Manager position is an exciting opportunity to help lead EMS service delivery improvement. This key leadership role is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, leadership, and organization of EMS activities within the Central Zone. In this role, you will support EMS Operations, and promote stakeholder engagement to align with the mission of EMS. You will develop and implement new programs and initiatives, using sound change management principles. Combining strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, and a drive to achieve results, you can help the organization meet those targets and make a difference within the Central Zone and across Alberta. AHS Operations is divided into five geographical Zones. As this is a Zone-level position, your physical work location is negotiable within the Central Zone. The city of Red Deer is located midway on the Calgary-Edmonton corridor and is the largest city within the Central Zone and currently home to approximately 110,423 residents. Central Zone’s surrounding area features communities of various sizes and personalities, from a vibrant lakeside community, which provides diverse economic opportunities, to others priding themselves on fresh, locally grown food. **Additional Required Qualifications**:
The successful applicant will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of system requirements for EMS, healthcare patient flow, transport coordination dynamics, and patient transport regulatory requirements. You possess excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with practical experience in strategic planning, leadership, as well as policy development, and project supervision. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment, ideally managing within a unionized sector. Experience in data/process analysis, strategy development and change management principles. Has the ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst groups and collaborate to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Proven ability to establish positive relationships and to collaboratively achieve organizational goals. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Training in project management and/or strategy development preferred.
