Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Area Director, the Manager - Homecare is a key leadership role responsible and accountable for direction, team leadership and organization over the activities of Home Care while supporting the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. The Manager - Homecare, is responsible for maintaining standards of the Homecare program, ensuring consistency in the delivery of patient and family focused care and accessibility of service through interaction and collaboration with internal and external partners and participants. In this leadership position, the Manager
- Homecare will make key decisions in the development, implementation and evaluation of the overall strategic and operational plans contributing to the achievements and goals of the program. The manager provides guidance, mentorship and plays a key role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and health maintenance, in the team providing safe, quality patient and family centered care.

Description:
Recruiting and selecting staff to meet operational needs and coordinating staffing and clinical work; as well as managing staff performance. Manage the operating budget, plan and determine the allocation of resources, authorize and control expenditures, and will be accountable to managing resources within the assigned portfolio. Promote team development, teamwork and an environment that fosters quality improvement and a culture of safety for staff and patients. Planning and coordinating initiatives as a portfolio team member; participating in quality management initiatives; facilitating change management. Financial Management responsibilities and accountabilities: Reviews monthly and yearly budget expenses to identify trends and potentials for savings. Investigates variances; accountable to balance costs and expenditures within identified budgets; authorizes expenditures as per AHS guidelines and in compliance with AHS procedures and policies. Oversight of contracted workers: The Home Care Manager facilitates and maintains effective working relationships with Home Care contracted service providers and with other AHS community partners. (Oversight & monitoring of contracted providers falls under the responsibility of AHS Central Zone, Seniors Health, and Executive Director). Assigned to coach/mentor/advise peers performing same or related duties: Within a collaborative team works to develop job performance within direct reports but also with manager peers both formally and informally. Position will directly supervise: Nursing Discipline: Registered Nurse; Licensed Practical Nurse; Registered Social Worker, Health Care Aides (AHS hired).

**Required Qualifications**:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Minimum of 2 years of Home Care experience within the last 5 years.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Minimum 1 year experience in a leadership capacity.
