Manager of Quality Assurance and Leadership

**Overview**
We seek a highly motivated manager of quality assurance and leadership development to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in reviewing and evaluating practice processes to facilitate quality improvement cycles, including the leadership of appropriate program teams. Recommends and facilitates program initiative changes by utilizing quality improvement models; participates in developing standards, procedures, and processes; and implements mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating service delivery improvement across all programs. Provides consultation, guidance, and support in integrating quality improvement methodology and tools such as evidence-based decision-support tools (e.g., practice guidelines, protocols, and client care); coordinates training for supervisors and staff, with a focus on leadership development related to practice guidelines, methodologies, and quality improvement.
Your primary objective will be to boost workplace performance and drive professional growth within our organization. As a quality assurance and leadership development, you will collaborate with various positions internally to identify gaps and develop targeted solutions. To excel in this role, you should have a strong passion for learning and development, excellent instructional design skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and engage with employees at all levels. Your creativity, attention to detail, and organizational abilities will be critical in delivering impactful training initiatives.
This is a salary position, working 35 hours a week. The position is for a specialist who leads by example, supporting staff in practical ways to improve their performance and work effectively as a team. The SHSS manager of quality assurance and leadership development mentors’ employees in their career planning and professional growth and provides practice leadership, education, training, and support to all SHSS managers and coordinators.
**The Manager is required**:
- To be familiar with and adhere to the procedures and policies of the agency.
- To be familiar and skilled in working with vulnerable Children and Youth, including those impacted by complex trauma, mental health and addictions.
- To deliver the program services according to government standards, acts, CARF standards, and regulations.
- To set an example for others through personal behaviour that respects others and models professional ethics.
- To work towards a common vision and uphold the mission statement and philosophy of the agency.
- To work closely with a larger team, including SHSS Director, SHSS Senior Manager, SHSS Case Manager, Health & Safety Officer, People and Culture Manager, and Director of Operations & Practice Standards.
**Key Duties**:
1. Provides practice education and quality improvement expertise in planning, implementing, and evaluating initiatives designed to improve quality of service and best practices in conjunction with the Director of Operations and Practice Standards.
2. Consult and support programs and program leaders in following organizational policies and procedures for best practices and monitor and evaluate initiatives designed to improve outcomes.
3. Identifies learning needs of staff related to integrating quality improvement methodology and evidence-based systems within everyday work processes. Provides team consultation and may assist in implementing quality improvement cycles.
4. Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates quality improvement learning sessions to address identified needs.
5. Participates in developing, implementing, and reviewing practice procedures to ensure they comply with professional, legal, organizational, CARF and regulatory standards, including MCFD standards for contracted agencies.
6. Assists in the restructuring process required to transition from existing service models to new ones (Transition to SHSS).
7. Assists and monitors the implementation of key strategies specific to direct practice.
8. Assists the Director of Operations and Practice Standards in writing procedures specific to best practices within all programs.
**Responsibilities**:
1. Assess Learning Needs: Identify training requirements within the organization and evaluate staff's skills, knowledge, and career development needs.
2. Designing Training Programs: Create training curricula and materials. These programs enhance soft skills (communication and teamwork) and hard skills (specific job-related expertise).
3. Performance Analysis: In collaboration with the Health and Safety Officer and Director of Operations and Practice Standards, conduct performance analysis to ensure ongoing staff development. Provide feedback and support to help employees grow.
4. Setting Expectations: Work with the SHSS team to develop clear expectations and ensure everyone understands their roles and responsibilities.
